From Norheimsund, we sail deeper into the impressively beautiful ‘Inner’ Hardangerfjord. Unique here are the beautiful orchards and delicious Cider. A pristine and varied landscape with steep and forested mountain slopes, waterfalls and many islands.
The plan is to spend a day in Ulvik, where there are several options, such as a nature hike to a spectacular waterfall, kayak rental, swimming and sauna or a visit to a local Orchard Farm with a ‘fruit and cider route’. We also sail to the charming town of Ullensvang.
Before sailing out of the Hardangerfjord again, we anchor in a nice anchorage near an islet in the Sildafjord and spend the night in another nice bay. We also sail into the North Sea to the island of Utsira. Utsira is known for its seafaring weather reports, but it is also a beautiful island, where we can take a walk to the lighthouse and associated ‘Lighthouse cafe’ for an ice cream or tasty waffle. The island is also known for its unusual birds and is also compared to Fair Isle (Shetland Islands).
We end the sailing trip in bustling Haugesund with a rich Viking past, where we conclude the sailing trip at a cosy restaurant and pub.
