A week sailing on the Baltic Sea

The Baltic Sea is the perfect destination for an active yet relaxing sailing holiday. Here, you’ll enjoy calm sailing waters, islands with rolling hills, beaches interspersed with high cliffs, and charming harbours.

Starting point: Laboe near Kiel

You board in the charming seaside town of Laboe, just a short distance from Kiel. Within walking distance of the ship, you’ll find the beach, cafés, and shops. After dinner, you can take a stroll along the waterfront, or relax on board and get to know your fellow sailors.

Departure and sailing to the Danish islands and along the German coast

After the crew has given an introduction to the ship and sails the next morning, we cast off. No matter which direction the wind is coming from, there is always a good route to plan. Every sailing trip is different, with new surprises to discover. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re looking for nature, culture, or relaxation.

Possible destinations along the way

Depending on wind and weather, the route will vary each time. Along the way, we visit various Danish harbour towns. The old fishing village of Bagenkop on Langeland is a perfect spot for walks in nature. Marstal is the largest town on the island of Ærø, and its maritime museum is well worth a visit. Also on Ærø is the charming town of Ærøskøbing, which, with its colourful houses and cobbled streets, feels like something out of a Hans Christian Andersen fairytale. We also enjoy mooring at the idyllic island of Lyø, just 6 km² in size, ideal for a walk or bike ride, with bicycles available for rent at the harbour. Sønderborg on the island of Als also has plenty to offer, including a beautiful castle, many shops, and a beach close to the harbour.

A visit to the German town of Kappeln, a place with maritime flair on the Schlei, is also possible.

A versatile sailing experience

Everyone can take part in the sailing activities under the guidance of our qualified crew—even without any sailing experience! There’s a good chance this sailing trip will leave you wanting more. The Baltic Sea is so diverse that even after many years, we still haven’t grown tired of it.

Enjoying on board

During our sailing trips, you’ll have plenty of time to relax, read, swim, and explore onshore in addition to the sailing activities. The fresh sea air will work up your appetite, and our chef knows just what to do: you’ll be treated daily to a hearty breakfast, a tasty lunch, and a delicious dinner.

The route is an example and depends on wind, weather, and tide.

Frequently asked questions

We still handle bookings personally and therefore do not have an automated booking system. This allows us to offer you the option to reserve individual spots without obligation for a few days. This way, for example, you can arrange your vacation without anyone snatching your spot right under your nose. For this reason, we are unable to keep track of the exact number of available spots on a daily basis. However, we regularly check the availability of our sailing holidays. Therefore, you can generally assume that there are still enough available spots on all trips that are not marked as “fully booked” or “Last Minute.” Call us or use our booking form if you want to know the exact number of available spots.

If you are travelling alone and have not booked a private cabin, you will be accommodated in a shared cabin. The shared cabins are usually assigned based on gender.

Exceptions:

  • On the Belle Amie and the Seatrips yachts, there are sometimes mixed-gender cabins as well.
  • On the Sir Robert, there are no shared cabins. Are you traveling alone? Then you must book a single cabin..

Yes, vegetarians and allergies/intolerances can be catered for on most ships. On some ships, the menu can also be adapted for vegans. However, there is only one menu per day on the programme. Therefore, please let us know during your booking if you have any special dietary requirements.

In principle, all our trips are suitable for both experienced and novice sailors. The professional crew on board will teach you everything you need to know. In some cases (e.g. on Atlantic crossings) initial sailing experience may be an advantage/requirement. In this case, this will be clearly indicated in the cruise description.
