The sailing trips aboard Sir Robert do not follow a fixed route. For each voyage, a suggested itinerary is provided as a flexible travel proposal.
Day 1 – Arrival and Welcome in Bastia
Arrival in Bastia, the picturesque Corsican port town with charming squares, narrow streets, and the impressive Genoese citadel dating back to 1380. At 6:00 PM, board the ship for a welcome drink, meet the crew, take a tour of the vessel, and get an overview of the sailing itinerary. For those with time, a short walk through the old town and along the harbor offers a perfect introduction.
Day 2 – South Coast of Elba and Marina di Campo
We sail along the south coast of Elba, possibly staying in Marina di Campo, home to the island’s longest beach—almost 1,300 meters—set in the bay of the same name, with fine golden sand and views of the open sea and Montecristo Island on the horizon. Marina di Campo offers a variety of water activities, including guided kayaking, swimming, and relaxing on the beach.
Day 3 – Historic Rio Marina
Today we sail to the east coast of Elba, to Rio Marina, which was for centuries the center of mining on the island. The extraction and transport of iron ore and minerals shaped its history. Highlights of a visit include the Parco Minerario mining park, the mineral museum, or a guided tour on foot or by small train along the main sites. Today, Rio Marina is a charming village with pastel-colored houses, the Palazzo del Buro, and a picturesque harbor, with quiet beaches nearby.
Day 4 – Portoferraio, the charming capital of Elba
A scenic sail takes us to Portoferraio, the capital of Elba and the main port of the Tuscan Archipelago. The old town has retained its ancient Renaissance charm, with medieval castles, churches, and impressive streets. The imposing city walls, towers, and the oldest lighthouse in Europe in the harbor leave a lasting impression.
Day 5 – The Tuscan Gem Capraia
Today we leave Elba and set course for Capraia, a true gem of the Tuscan Archipelago. Capraia enchants with its unspoiled nature: rocky coasts, turquoise waters, and hilly landscapes dotted with evergreen vegetation. Hiking trails lead to the island’s most beautiful spots, including the Forte San Giorgio. Stunning bays invite swimming, and we explore Capraia’s sea caves by dinghy, as they are accessible only from the water.
Day 6 – Northern Tip of Corsica and Barcaggio
Today we sail to the northernmost point of Corsica, Barcaggio, home to one of the peninsula’s most beautiful and largest beaches, rarely crowded. Surrounded by wild maquis and evergreen landscapes, with the small island of Giraglia and its impressive lighthouse in the foreground, it offers a stunning panorama. The sandy beach is accessible from land only via the “Customs Officers’ Path,” giving it a unique and picturesque charm.
Day 7 – Cap Corse and the Idyllic Porto Centuri
Cap Corse is like a miniature Corsica: the peninsula is incredibly varied and diverse. Today we sail along the coast to Porto Centuri, the most beautiful village on Cap Corse, famous for its lobster fishing. Small, characteristic houses cluster around the harbor, forming a picturesque fishing village. A dreamy beach with rocks and crystal-clear water invites swimming and snorkeling.
Day 8 – Arrival in St. Florent and Transfer to Bastia
