Step aboard Aron for an active Fyn Rundt sailing trip among a remarkable fleet of historic Danish sailing ships. During this special regatta, the ships race around the island of Funen in several stages. The sailing is competitive but friendly, while every evening brings the fleet together again in a welcoming Danish harbour.

Fyn Rundt is much more than an ordinary sailing race. The participating vessels form part of Denmark’s maritime heritage and show themselves at their very best during this unique week. Instead of watching the regatta from the shore, you become part of the crew and experience the event from the middle of the fleet.

Active sailing during the Fyn Rundt regatta

This Fyn Rundt sailing trip is perfect for anyone who wants to take an active role aboard a historic sailing ship. On Aron, you can help hoist and trim the sails, assist during manoeuvres and participate in the daily activities on board.

No previous sailing experience is required. The experienced crew will explain the tasks and show you how to take part safely. However, you should be keen to learn, willing to participate and physically fit and mobile enough for an active sailing voyage.

You will probably use almost every muscle during the regatta – especially your laughing muscles. Teamwork, exciting sailing and sharing the experience with your fellow crew members are at the heart of this voyage.

Travel back to the age of sail

Sailing through Danish waters alongside a large fleet of historic vessels is an unforgettable sight. At times, it feels as though you have travelled a hundred years back in time and are seeing the ports and waters around Funen during the golden age of sailing ships.

At the end of each stage, the vessels often moor side by side. You can meet crews from the other ships, exchange stories about the day and perhaps hear a few entertaining sailors’ tales.

The ports offer a lively maritime atmosphere and activities along the quayside. This makes the voyage a special combination of hands-on sailing, Danish harbour culture and sociable evenings ashore.

Sailing and life aboard Aron

Every sailing trip aboard Aron is centred around active participation, good food and enjoyable company. You are not simply a passenger: for the duration of the voyage, you become part of life on board.

During a regatta, the weather and the sailing manoeuvres determine the rhythm of the day. When the action demands everyone’s attention, lunch may occasionally be little more than a quick slice of rye bread between two manoeuvres.

In the evening, the crew shows what can be prepared in the galley. After an energetic day on the water, you can look forward to a satisfying meal and a relaxed evening with your fellow sailors.

Route of the 2026 Fyn Rundt regatta

The fleet gathers in Assens, where the regatta officially begins on Sunday 19 July. From there, the ships sail in several stages around Funen and the surrounding Danish islands. The voyage ends in Svendborg, where the arrival of the historic vessels is traditionally celebrated with a festive finale. The fleet then sails through Danish waters in several stages.

The itinerary may change depending on wind, weather and other nautical conditions.

Frequently asked questions

We still handle bookings personally and therefore do not have an automated booking system. This allows us to offer you the option to reserve individual spots without obligation for a few days. This way, for example, you can arrange your vacation without anyone snatching your spot right under your nose. For this reason, we are unable to keep track of the exact number of available spots on a daily basis. However, we regularly check the availability of our sailing holidays. Therefore, you can generally assume that there are still enough available spots on all trips that are not marked as “fully booked” or “Last Minute.” Call us or use our booking form if you want to know the exact number of available spots.

If you are travelling alone and have not booked a private cabin, you will be accommodated in a shared cabin. The shared cabins are usually assigned based on gender.

Exceptions:

  • On the Belle Amie and the Seatrips yachts, there are sometimes mixed-gender cabins as well.
  • On the Sir Robert, there are no shared cabins. Are you traveling alone? Then you must book a single cabin..

Yes, vegetarians and allergies/intolerances can be catered for on most ships. On some ships, the menu can also be adapted for vegans. However, there is only one menu per day on the programme. Therefore, please let us know during your booking if you have any special dietary requirements.

In principle, all our trips are suitable for both experienced and novice sailors. The professional crew on board will teach you everything you need to know. In some cases (e.g. on Atlantic crossings) initial sailing experience may be an advantage/requirement. In this case, this will be clearly indicated in the cruise description.
