Historic ships – part of Denmark’s cultural heritage – show their best side here. The ‘Around Funen’ regatta for preserved sailing ships is Funen’s biggest summer event. Here, the big Danish sailing ships gather for a friendly regatta, with plenty of celebrations in the various ports as well. In the evening, the ships moor, and on the quay there is entertainment for young and old.
It is a fun and active sailing trip where you use all your muscles, especially your laughing muscles! At the same time, you will make a time travel 100 years back in time and experience the ports and waters of Funen as they looked in the glory days of sailing ships. In the evening, we will lie side by side with other ships and you can meet the crews, share stories and experiences of the day and maybe hear funny sailor stories.
You do not need to have any knowledge of sailing, but we do expect you to want to learn and actively participate. It is important that you are in good shape and mobile for this sailing trip.
Lunch on this voyage is highly weather-dependent and can sometimes be little more than a quick bite of rye bread between manoeuvres. But in the evening, we show what we can do in the galley, so there is always something to look forward to.
