Sardinia – Maddalena Archipelago – Corsica – Bonifacio – Calvi – Palau – Sardinia

The trip begins with arrival in Sardinia, where we embark in the charming town of Palau, located north of Olbia. After a champagne reception, guests are welcomed and given an introduction, after which the programme for the coming days is discussed. On the first evening, we will enjoy dinner together on board.

The itinerary then takes us to the Strait of Bonifacio, where we cross to the French, Corsican side and visit the Lavezzi Islands. Depending on weather conditions and guests’ interest, we have the option to go for a walk or a snorkelling excursion. We can enjoy the beautiful white sandy beach and breathtaking views of both the Corsican and Sardinian coasts. In the afternoon, we sail to the Golfe de Sant Amanza, located at the south-eastern tip of Corsica, where we can relax at a beach bar and enjoy a local Pietra beer, a typical Corsican speciality.

The journey continues along Corsica’s east coast to the bay of Porto Vecchio, surrounded by cork oaks and pine trees. This lively town offers a combination of medieval charm and colourful streets, where we will take time to explore. Next, the itinerary may take us to the Iles Cerbicales, a group of islands with crystal-clear waters, ideal for snorkelling or just enjoying nature. Here or in a nearby bay, we can anchor and enjoy dinner overlooking Corsica’s imposing mountain silhouettes.

The Strait of Bonifacio almost always offers ideal wind conditions, making it the perfect place for some great sailing between Corsica and Sardinia. We sail to Bonifacio, a town majestically situated on a narrow limestone cliff, and explore the unique town with its narrow streets and medieval atmosphere. The panoramic view from the town is absolutely worth it.

We then leave Corsica and sail back to Sardinia. We moor in the beautiful bays of Porto Liscia or Porto Puddo, where, by evening, we relax in a trendy beach bar, admire kitesurfers or go for a beach walk.

Along Sardinia’s northern coast, we continue the journey to Capo d’Orso, where the famous ‘Bear Cape’ awaits. The granite rocks, eroded by the wind, resemble a huge polar bear. We take a short walk up and enjoy the view over the Maddalena Archipelago. We might take another trip to the island of Maddalena or stay at anchor in one of the idyllic bays.

On the last day, we can enjoy the crystal-clear waters one last time before we leisurely sail back to Palau. In the bay of Mezzo Schiffo, we will anchor and prepare for departure.

This route recommendation is a non-binding suggestion. The final route will be determined by the skipper, depending on wind and weather conditions. Changes and errors reserved. We often spend more time in the beautiful Maddalena archipelago, on the coast of Sardinia or in other idyllic bays, adapted to current conditions.

Frequently asked questions

We still handle your bookings personally and therefore do not have an automatic booking system. This way, we can enable you to reserve individual places for a few days without any obligation. This allows you, for example, to arrange your holiday without someone stealing your place from under your nose. For this reason, we cannot keep track of the exact number of free places on a daily basis. However, we regularly check the availability of our sailing holidays. Therefore, you can generally assume that plenty of free places are still available on all trips that are not marked as ‘fully booked’ or ‘Last Minute’. Call us or use our booking form if you want to know the exact number of places available.

If you are travelling alone and have not booked a private cabin, you will be accommodated in a shared cabin. Shared cabins are normally divided by gender. Only on the Belle Amie and Seatrips Yachts do they sometimes have mixed cabins.

Yes, vegetarians and allergies/intolerances can be catered for on most ships. However, there is only one menu per day on the programme. Therefore, please let us know during your booking if you have any special dietary requirements.

In principle, all our trips are suitable for both experienced and novice sailors. The professional crew on board will teach you everything you need to know. In some cases (e.g. on Atlantic crossings) initial sailing experience may be an advantage/requirement. In this case, this will be clearly indicated in the cruise description.
