A long weekend for explorers and lovers of life

As the beautiful month of May bathes the Baltic Sea in sparkling light, the finest season on the water begins. We invite you to leave everyday life behind and embrace the freedom of the Baltic Sea aboard the 111-year-old logger Belle Amie. During this voyage, only 12 fellow travellers will join you on the 38-metre sailing ship, creating an intimate and exclusive experience.

The wind determines the course – curiosity is the destination

We sail far away from mass tourism and let nature guide our journey. Wherever the wind takes us — that becomes our destination.

Perhaps we will set course for the picturesque fishing village of Marstal, where maritime history can be felt in every street. There is much to discover here: the small maritime museum, the old glass shipyard, or the audio trail inspired by the novel We, the Drowned. In Marstal, you can truly immerse yourself in the maritime soul of Denmark.

Or we explore the small Danish islands, often referred to as the “pearls of the Baltic Sea.” This island world enchants with its hidden bays and blooming landscapes.

Or we take the scenic route along the Schlei towards Kappeln. As bright yellow rapeseed fields stretch to the shoreline on both sides and their scent blends with the salty sea air, you experience the North at its very best.

Culinary delights bring us together on board

On board the Belle Amie, food is about much more than simply eating. In our well-equipped galley, we do our best to cater to everyone’s wishes. We believe in a shared and active full-board experience: preparing meals together, cooking, and creating delicious dishes with fresh ingredients.

After all, sea air works up an appetite. That is why fresh fruit and small snacks are always available throughout the day. We want everyone on board to truly feel at home. Cooking together becomes both a shared experience and a moment of pure enjoyment.

Enjoy your breakfast on deck as the morning sun warms the water, or sip a refreshing drink beneath an endless starry sky while anchored in a quiet bay.

Berths (sleeping accommodation)

On board the Belle Amie, you will find cosy cabins with modern single berths, each equipped with its own mattress, storage space, and reading light. To ensure every guest enjoys plenty of personal space, the ship operates at only half capacity, accommodating just 12 to a maximum of 15 people.

In addition to the four cabins below deck, there is plenty of space in the cosy saloon, as well as two toilets and a bathroom with shower. Those who prefer sleeping beneath the open sky are welcome to bring their own hammock. Please remember to bring a sleeping bag, a bedsheet, and a pillowcase — pillows are already provided on board.

Experience adventure or simply unwind.

Come on board with no prior sailing experience and become part of the crew. After a thorough introduction, you will learn how to hoist the sails and keep the ship on course. When the anchor drops or the wind fades, adventure awaits: dive straight into the sea or quietly explore the coastline on our stand-up paddleboards (SUPs).

This weekend is not just an ordinary short getaway, but a deep immersion into the freedom of the Baltic Sea. One thing is certain: the gentle sound of the waves against the bow of the Belle Amie will stay with you long after returning to everyday life. And the wide smile this journey leaves behind will continue to resonate in your heart for months to come.

Frequently asked questions

We still handle bookings personally and therefore do not have an automated booking system. This allows us to offer you the option to reserve individual spots without obligation for a few days. This way, for example, you can arrange your vacation without anyone snatching your spot right under your nose. For this reason, we are unable to keep track of the exact number of available spots on a daily basis. However, we regularly check the availability of our sailing holidays. Therefore, you can generally assume that there are still enough available spots on all trips that are not marked as “fully booked” or “Last Minute.” Call us or use our booking form if you want to know the exact number of available spots.

If you are travelling alone and have not booked a private cabin, you will be accommodated in a shared cabin. The shared cabins are usually assigned based on gender.

Exceptions:

  • On the Belle Amie and the Seatrips yachts, there are sometimes mixed-gender cabins as well.
  • On the Sir Robert, there are no shared cabins. Are you traveling alone? Then you must book a single cabin..

Yes, vegetarians and allergies/intolerances can be catered for on most ships. On some ships, the menu can also be adapted for vegans. However, there is only one menu per day on the programme. Therefore, please let us know during your booking if you have any special dietary requirements.

In principle, all our trips are suitable for both experienced and novice sailors. The professional crew on board will teach you everything you need to know. In some cases (e.g. on Atlantic crossings) initial sailing experience may be an advantage/requirement. In this case, this will be clearly indicated in the cruise description.
