Step aboard for a special Baltic Sea sailing weekend and leave everyday life behind from Friday to Sunday. Enjoy hands-on sailing, fresh sea air and relaxing hours aboard a traditional sailing ship.

During the day, we sail across the Baltic Sea and set course for a suitable harbour on the German or Danish coast. After an eventful day on the water, you can warm up below deck, wrap your hands around a hot drink and share the day’s experiences with your fellow travellers.

Sailing from Rostock

This Baltic Sea sailing weekend begins in Rostock, a historic harbour city on Germany’s Baltic coast with a long maritime tradition. After boarding, you meet the ship, the crew and your fellow guests. The crew explains the most important routines on board before you set sail together the next morning.

From Rostock, we set course for a suitable destination along the German or southern Danish Baltic coast. The exact route depends on the wind, weather and conditions at sea. This freedom is part of what makes every sailing voyage special: rather than following a fixed schedule, the conditions and the shared sailing experience determine the rhythm of the weekend.

Possible destinations on the Baltic coast

Depending on the weather, we may sail to Kühlungsborn, Fehmarn or a welcoming harbour along the southern Danish coast. The captain chooses the final destination based on the latest forecast and the possibilities for a safe and enjoyable sailing route.

Along the way, you enjoy wide views across the Baltic Sea, the crisp autumn air and the colours along the coast. If the route and arrival time allow, there may be time to explore the harbour, go for a walk or simply relax on board.

Take an active part in sailing

During the trip, you have the opportunity to help with the sailing. Under the guidance of the experienced crew, you can assist with hoisting and lowering the sails, take part in manoeuvres or spend some time at the helm.

No previous sailing experience is required. The crew explains everything clearly and shows you how to help safely. You decide how actively you would like to participate, although an open and interested attitude makes the experience even more rewarding.

Life on board is a shared experience. Helping to prepare meals, set the table and tidy up afterwards quickly creates a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere among the guests.

A special autumn weekend on the Baltic Sea

This sailing trip combines active participation with autumn comfort and relaxed time together. It is ideal for anyone who wants to escape everyday life for a few days, meet new people and experience the Baltic Sea aboard a traditional sailing ship.

Whether you prefer to help actively on deck or simply enjoy the sea and the views, both are possible during this Baltic Sea sailing weekend. On Sunday, you return to Rostock with fresh sea air in your mind, new experiences and lasting memories.

Wind, weather and other nautical conditions may always require changes to the route. The captain will choose a safe itinerary that suits the conditions.

Frequently asked questions

We still handle bookings personally and therefore do not have an automated booking system. This allows us to offer you the option to reserve individual spots without obligation for a few days. This way, for example, you can arrange your vacation without anyone snatching your spot right under your nose. For this reason, we are unable to keep track of the exact number of available spots on a daily basis. However, we regularly check the availability of our sailing holidays. Therefore, you can generally assume that there are still enough available spots on all trips that are not marked as “fully booked” or “Last Minute.” Call us or use our booking form if you want to know the exact number of available spots.

If you are travelling alone and have not booked a private cabin, you will be accommodated in a shared cabin. The shared cabins are usually assigned based on gender.

Exceptions:

  • On the Belle Amie and the Seatrips yachts, there are sometimes mixed-gender cabins as well.
  • On the Sir Robert, there are no shared cabins. Are you traveling alone? Then you must book a single cabin..

Yes, vegetarians and allergies/intolerances can be catered for on most ships. On some ships, the menu can also be adapted for vegans. However, there is only one menu per day on the programme. Therefore, please let us know during your booking if you have any special dietary requirements.

In principle, all our trips are suitable for both experienced and novice sailors. The professional crew on board will teach you everything you need to know. In some cases (e.g. on Atlantic crossings) initial sailing experience may be an advantage/requirement. In this case, this will be clearly indicated in the cruise description.
