Iris

Over 100 years ago, the Iris was used in the North Sea as a herring lugger. The ship later got a new life when it was converted into a comfortable charter vessel and now spends her summers in the North and Baltic Sea.

Her traditional ketch rigging combined with her sturdy steel hull make her a great ship on which to learn the basics and explore all aspects of sailing on a historic ship. She accommodates 12 guests in six private double cabins and features spacious and well thought-out common areas below deck. Guests can relax in the large saloon with dining area, separate seating area and even a small library on board!

The Iris is perfect for those looking for an adventurous sailing experience and want to explore the coasts and islands of Germany, Sweden and Denmark, cross the English Channel or discover the French coast.

A trip on the traditional sailing vessel “Iris” offers you a wonderful mix of activity and relaxation. You take part in sailing activities on board and can set sails, trim, steer, determine positions and much more. Thus, you will learn the basics of traditional seafaring. Moreover, you have many opportunities to feel freedom away from everyday life. Between sailing activities, you can enjoy the view of the sea and coast, read a book, chat with other sailors or simply enjoy the peace and sea air. In the afternoon and evening hours, there is also time for shore excursions. You are welcome to explore the visited ports and surroundings on your own. By balancing activity and relaxation, you will experience sailing in all its facets and have an unforgettable time on the water. It is a wonderful opportunity to learn new skills, enjoy the beauty of nature, clear your head and learn unfamiliar perspectives.
