Belle Amie

The Belle Amie was built in 1915 for fishing at the Van der Windt Brothers’ shipyard in Vlaardingen. She received her first engine in 1927 and was subsequently sold to Sweden. There, the ship worked initially in fishing, then as a cargo ship in the archipelago around Gothenburg and from 1968 as the sail training ship of a nautical college. The historic sailing ship survived two world wars and several economic crises and is at least as proud and original today as it was over 100 years ago.

The ship is decorated in maritime style and equipped with the latest technology. It has a safety certificate from BG Verkehr as a traditional ship for 24 overnight guests and 50 day guests and is crewed by professional sailors.

Both on deck and in the saloon, there is ample space for all fellow sailors. The saloon is also equipped with a screen, beamer, WiFi and overhead projector, so educational seminars can also be offered here. You will sleep in four-, six- or aft berths or in 2 single berths in the saloon. Bedding can also be provided on request.

Also on deck, the ship offers plenty of space for reading, playing, sunbathing and socialising. There are 2 large SUPs on board, which you can use, for example, during a swimming stop. It is also possible to climb into the jib net or even the mast.

Sailing means joining in on the Belle Amie. No prior knowledge is required and everyone feels part of the crew after only a little time. Together sails are set, daily destinations are determined, sea charts are read, navigation is discussed, manoeuvres are carried out and the sailing ship is set on course. Sailing knowledge is conveyed in a lively way through practical activities and small theoretical units, so that after a short time the fellow sailors can participate in sailing independently and see themselves as part of the crew.
