On Friday evening, you will come on board in the Frisian harbour town of Harlingen to spend an exciting weekend on the water. On Saturday, we head out onto the beautiful Wadden Sea (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009) and then set sail. The aim of this sailing day is to let the ship fall dry on the mudflats. To do this, the Nil Desperandum is anchored on a sandbank after high tide. The water then flows away with the low tide until the ship finally lies dry on the seabed.
Then a unique activity awaits you: playing golf on the mudflats. The idea is to create a temporary golf course on the sandbank, where we will play a tournament in teams of four. The special thing about this golf experience are the balls, which are made of cellulose and contain fish food. This means that they dissolve after use and are environmentally friendly, so that we can still play golf from the boat even at high tide.
There will be an experienced guide on the trip so that you can join in without any golfing experience. You don’t need to bring any equipment either, as everything is provided.
If the weather co-operates, we plan to stay at anchor after falling dry and spend the night outside. Otherwise, we will head for a nearby harbour to provide comfort and safety. On Sunday, we set sail back and take the memories of an unforgettable weekend home with us. It promises to be an adventurous, fun and environmentally conscious experience that will live long in the memory of all participants.
Drinks and a complete bed linen set are also included in the price of this cruise.
