Discover the natural beauty of Malta, Comino and Gozo as you explore the ancient ruins and peaceful harbor towns. Sail between remote anchorages in crystal clear waters and experience what it’s like to pilot a historic windjammer. This trial sailing trip is perfect for those who want to enjoy the Mediterranean sun, with a mix of active sailing under the guidance of an experienced crew, relaxed explorations ashore, and delicious food on board and ashore.

Board the Florette in Sliema, a bustling coastal town on Malta’s east coast, located across the harbour from the majestic capital Valletta. With its stunning promenade, lively atmosphere, modern facilities and charming cafés, Sliema offers everything you need to fully immerse yourself in Maltese culture before departure.

Day 1: Embarkation in Sliema, Malta

At 16:00, you are welcome aboard Florette for an unforgettable spring adventure at sea. Surrounded by the enchanting beauty of Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will feel the excitement of what is to come. Meet your fellow travellers over a refreshing welcome drink and experience the unique atmosphere of this new beginning. As night falls, you will be treated to a BBQ dinner on deck, where the fresh flavours of local cuisine will tantalise your senses. During the captains briefing, the tone is set for the historical wonders and adventurous sailing that await you.

Day 2: Active Sailing to the Azure Waters of Comino

Start your day with a hearty breakfast and hands-on sailing, with the crew sharing their in-depth knowledge of seamanship. Feel the power of the wind as we set sail for Comino, an island at its most beautiful in spring. The famous Blue Lagoon is waiting to be discovered-a paradise for swimming and snorkelling in crystal clear waters full of colourful marine life. After a delicious lunch on board, walk around the island and explore Comino’s secret coves and rugged landscapes. At sunset, gather for a cocktail and dinner under the stars, surrounded by the scents and flavours of Mediterranean cuisine.

Day 3: Sailing to the Historic Heart of Gozo

With full sails, we sail to the island of Gozo, where history meets natural beauty. We anchor in the charming port of Mgarr and set off to visit the Ġgantija temples, ancient structures that are among the oldest in the world. Explore these impressive structures, witnesses to an era that lies in the mist of history. In the afternoon, wander the lively streets of Victoria, Gozo’s capital, and climb the Citadel for breathtaking views of the island’s green, lush landscape. Returning in the afternoon, you can kayak, snorkel or use the SUPs before ending the evening with a delicious dinner on board.

Day 4: Coastal Adventure and Historical Tales

The morning offers another chance to experience the beauty of the sea as we sail along Gozo’s rugged coast and stop for a refreshing swim amid the imposing cliffs of Dwejra Bay. The wind slowly takes us back towards Malta, an ideal time to reflect on the adventures of the past few days and enjoy a final dinner on deck. Indulge in the stories and legends of Maltese history as the ship gently sways under the clear starry sky.

Day 5: Historic Farewell in Sliema

Wake up to spectacular views of Valletta’s skyline and enjoy a leisurely breakfast while the Florette anchors in the Grand Harbour. After disembarking at 10:00 am, one last chance to explore the enchanting streets of Valletta awaits you. Discover the splendour of St John’s Co-Cathedral and the Grand Master’s Palace-each a precious chapter in Malta’s rich history.

Frequently asked questions

We still handle your bookings personally and therefore do not have an automatic booking system. This way, we can enable you to reserve individual places for a few days without any obligation. This allows you, for example, to arrange your holiday without someone stealing your place from under your nose. For this reason, we cannot keep track of the exact number of free places on a daily basis. However, we regularly check the availability of our sailing holidays. Therefore, you can generally assume that plenty of free places are still available on all trips that are not marked as ‘fully booked’ or ‘Last Minute’. Call us or use our booking form if you want to know the exact number of places available.

If you are travelling alone and have not booked a private cabin, you will be accommodated in a shared cabin. Shared cabins are normally divided by gender. Only on the Belle Amie and Seatrips Yachts do they sometimes have mixed cabins.

Yes, vegetarians and allergies/intolerances can be catered for on most ships. However, there is only one menu per day on the programme. Therefore, please let us know during your booking if you have any special dietary requirements.

In principle, all our trips are suitable for both experienced and novice sailors. The professional crew on board will teach you everything you need to know. In some cases (e.g. on Atlantic crossings) initial sailing experience may be an advantage/requirement. In this case, this will be clearly indicated in the cruise description.
