Experience Scandinavia Under Sail

Experience Scandinavia! Come aboard the Iris and experience unforgettable sailing days on the Baltic Sea. Are you ready for an adventure? Say goodbye to everyday life, step aboard the Iris and sail with us. Learn the basics of sailing and navigation or deepen your existing knowledge.

From Copenhagen to Göteborg

This sailing trip takes you from the Danish capital Copenhagen to the Swedish city of Gothenburg. During the trip, the wind will determine where we go. You will spend the nights in harbour towns or at anchor and experience Scandinavian nature from the water during the day.

Discover the Diversity of the Baltic Sea

On your journey from the coast of Copenhagen to the fascinating city of Gothenburg, you will experience the diversity of the Baltic Sea. Feel the wind in your hair and listen to the gentle sound of the sea. You sail along Sweden’s west coast and reach the skerries south of Gothenburg. This coast is mainly characterised by numerous small, rocky cliffs and islands. A beautiful and sheltered sailing area. Here we visit picturesque islands, small fishing villages, or anchor in an idyllic bay.

The lively city of Gothenburg is the second largest city in Sweden and offers a cosy centre that is definitely worth a visit. You disembark after an eventful sailing journey full of new experiences.

⛵ Actively sail and relax

On board, you can expect a balanced mix of activity and relaxation. Everyone helps out with the sailing manoeuvres to the best of their ability, learns navigation or takes the helm. No previous experience is required. Between activities, there is plenty of time for rest, conversation, observation and simply enjoying life at sea.

🧭 Flexible Route for the Best Experience

The crew of the Iris determines the route based on current weather conditions, ensuring you always enjoy the best and safest sailing experience. This creates a dynamic and adventurous journey, perfectly attuned to wind and weather. One thing is certain: by the end of the week, we will reach Göteborg, a city that definitely invites a longer stay.

Frequently asked questions

We still handle your bookings personally and therefore do not have an automatic booking system. This way, we can enable you to reserve individual places for a few days without any obligation. This allows you, for example, to arrange your holiday without someone stealing your place from under your nose. For this reason, we cannot keep track of the exact number of free places on a daily basis. However, we regularly check the availability of our sailing holidays. Therefore, you can generally assume that plenty of free places are still available on all trips that are not marked as ‘fully booked’ or ‘Last Minute’. Call us or use our booking form if you want to know the exact number of places available.

If you are travelling alone and have not booked a private cabin, you will be accommodated in a shared cabin. The shared cabins are usually assigned based on gender.

Exceptions:

  • On the Belle Amie and the Seatrips yachts, there are sometimes mixed-gender cabins as well.
  • There are no shared cabins on the Sir Robert. Are you travelling alone? Then you should book a single cabin.

Yes, vegetarians and allergies/intolerances can be catered for on most ships. On some ships, the menu can also be adapted for vegans. However, there is only one menu per day on the programme. Therefore, please let us know during your booking if you have any special dietary requirements.

In principle, all our trips are suitable for both experienced and novice sailors. The professional crew on board will teach you everything you need to know. In some cases (e.g. on Atlantic crossings) initial sailing experience may be an advantage/requirement. In this case, this will be clearly indicated in the cruise description.
