Day 1.
Arrival in Naples and embarkation at 18:00 at Baia, in the bay of Pozzuoli, a suburb of Naples. A champagne reception will welcome guests, introduce the ship and discuss the expected itinerary.
Day 2
In the morning, we sail to Ischia, the 47 sq km Mediterranean holiday island: mountainous, lush green, with a mild climate and beaches all around. We start at Ischia Ponte, the former fishing village, and sail along the coast to the beautiful Maronti beach. Here we plan our activities as desired, such as a land visit, swimming or snorkelling. Maronti beach is a paradise with crystal-clear water heated by thermal springs. Simple beach bars on stilts invite us for a sundowner. In the evening, we anchor off the coastal town of Sant’Angelo.
Day 3
Sant’Angelo, with its picturesque setting of the former fishing village, is the island’s most charming coastal town. The car-free centre invites you to explore and stroll the winding streets and steps. A cappuccino in the piazza is not to be missed. Our day ends with a leisurely land walk in the bay.
Day 4
In the morning, we set sail for a 20 nautical mile trip to Capri. This majestic rocky island gem, with steep cliffs and impressive scenery, is known as a fashionable destination thanks to the elite from the fashion, film and financial world. We leisurely enjoy the view from the ship and choose anchorages for swimming and relaxing.
Day 5
Today, Amalfi is on the programme. We take a beautiful sailing trip from Capri to the spectacular Amalfi Coast, famous for its impressive cliffs, lush vegetation, lemon gardens and colourful coastal villages. A former maritime republic, Amalfi is an atmospheric destination well worth a visit.
Day 6
We continue to enjoy the Amalfi Coast and the comfort of admiring this breathtaking coastline from the ship. At anchor by the beaches of Positano, we enjoy the views, while a visit to the village itself is an absolute must. For those who wish, a walk along the famous Sentiero degli Dei (The Path of the Gods) is available. Later, we sail to a quiet bay near Punta Campanella, where we spend the night.
Day 7
A delightful day of sailing and boating takes us to Ercolano, the ideal base for a nostalgic ascent of Mount Vesuvius. Although the cable car no longer functions after the 1980 earthquake, the trip to the crater is a sporting challenge. Alternatively, a 1991 hiking network offers several routes. Those who wish can also relax on board. Like every day, our activities come according to your wishes and mood.
Day 8
After a short sail, we visit Procida, the smallest of the three islands in the Gulf of Naples. Often overlooked by tourists, this charming island retains its authentic character with colourful houses and a quiet fishing atmosphere. Procida offers some quiet beaches with dark gravel, ideal for a relaxing finish. We stay here overnight at anchor at the picturesque fishing port Corricella or Marina di Procida. After lunch, we sail back to Baia, where check-out is at 15:00. Transfers to Naples airport or a hotel can be arranged.
This itinerary is a non-binding suggestion. The final route will be determined by the captain, depending on wind and weather conditions. Changes and errors reserved.
The Sir Robert Baden Powell is not only a sailing ship but also an SSI diving base. With its diving instructor, the ship offers one dive per day. The day is organised so that diving and other activities do not interfere with each other and everyone can have their fun. Furthermore, SUPs and snorkelling equipment are available on board. It is advisable to inform us in advance of your interest in diving, so that the ship can better organise it.
