Where can we sail to?
The Grenadines
The Grenadines are a chain of small idyllic islands with an abundance of picturesque anchorages, dense jungle, rolling hills, and black volcanic sand beaches. Discover the set used for the film Pirates of the Caribbean and explore waterfalls just a short walk from the beach. Spend some time here snorkeling, swimming, and kayaking along the coastline filled with natural rock formations.
The Tobago Cays
The Tobago Cays are a true underwater paradise. Look over the side of the Blue Clipper into the crystal-clear water, and you’ll be rewarded with colorful schools of fish and fascinating coral reefs. You could spend days here kayaking and exploring. There’s a nearby turtle sanctuary, so swimming alongside turtles and stingrays is almost guaranteed. Cast a line from the boat to catch a Red Snapper or two and take them ashore for a beach barbecue, while stargazing as night falls is a true feast for the eyes!”
Bequia
The island of Bequia (pronounced ‘beck-way’) literally means ‘island of the clouds.’ One of the most beautiful islands of the Grenadines, and you’ll soon understand why it tops the list of anchorages. Apparently untouched by mass tourism, the island retains its authentic Caribbean charm with friendly locals and a truly relaxed lifestyle
The exact route always depends on the wind and weather and is therefore not fixed in advance.
A typical day on board:
After a hearty breakfast, the crew starts preparing the sails and discusses the plan for the day with the guest crew. After checking the charts and raising the anchor, the sails are set in search of a scenic anchorage, preferably off the beaten track. From hoisting the sails to steering the ship, you are cordially invited to participate in all sailing activities on board. After a few hours of sailing, the anchor is dropped and guests can explore ashore or just relax on the ship with a book – the choice is yours.
The Blue Clipper also features 3 kayaks, 3 paddleboards, and snorkeling equipment for guests, allowing you to explore closer to the shore while the ship is at anchor.
The beauty of exploring the coast from the comfort of a sailing ship is that you can reach remote, hard-to-access destinations, far away from the tourist crowds.
On board the Blue Clipper, there is also a dedicated chef, so after a day of sailing in the salty sea air, you don’t have to worry about cooking. Think locally sourced ingredients, fresh fish, and homemade bread, with hearty, home-cooked meals and, of course, plenty of tea, coffee, and cake!
Tip: St. Lucia can be reached from Europe by plane via London Gatwick and London Heathrow (Airlines: British Airways and Virgin Atlantic).
