This sailing trip goes deep into Sognefjord, Norway’s longest and deepest fjord. The stunning scenery has been designated a Unesco World Heritage Site, with imposing mountains, idyllic villages and rugged snow-capped peaks. A pristine and varied landscape with steep and forested mountain slopes and emerald green waters.
We will sail to the imposing island of Alden for a nice walk with stunning ocean views. We will also anchor a couple of times and in Mundal/Fjærland, the plan is to stay for a day. Here you will discover Norway’s largest collection of second-hand books and you can even rent a sauna on the water. But adventure activities like hiking, cycling, kayaking or a bus ride to the glacier are also possible here.
Depending on weather and wind, we hop on to other islands and past the striking wooden lighthouse ‘Stabben Fyr’. We finish in Bergen, a beautiful and lively city with wooden houses and atmospheric alleys. You can take the Fløibanen, a cable car, from the city centre to the top for great views over the city, fjords and a beautiful nature walk. The historic centre ‘Bryggen’ is also a Unesco World Heritage Site, and here we end the sailing holiday in a cosy restaurant.
The daily distances are between 11 and 33 nautical miles this sailing holiday. The above schedule depends on weather, wind and tide, we will deviate from it if necessary.
Information on transfer options to the departure and from the arrival port are available from us on request.
Category C: Relaxed sailing holiday with shorter day distances and plenty of time for sightseeing.
