This sailing holiday starts in Ålesund, one of Norway’s most unique towns because of its atmospheric Art Nouveau-style architecture, newly rebuilt after an all-destructive fire in 1904. From the summit in the city park Aksla, you have breathtaking views of the town, the mountains and the sea. A climb of 418 steps, but at the top sits a café with panoramic views and, among other things, delicious Donuts.
This sailing trip heads into the Hjørundfjord, one of Norway’s most beautiful fjords, but less known to the general public. With imposing mountains, picturesque villages like Sæbø and rugged snow-capped peaks. A pristine and varied landscape with steep and forested mountain slopes and deep fjords created during the ice age.
We sail on to the remote island of Runde, with beautiful flowers and many unusual birds such as Puffins, Gannets and sea eagles. Here we stay for a day of sightseeing and a nice walk.
Depending on weather and wind, we hop on to other islands such as Sandsøya and Silda. We finish in Måløy, where we end the sailing holiday in a cosy restaurant.
Day distances are between 10 and 30 nautical miles this sailing holiday. The above schedule depends on weather, wind and tide, we will deviate from it if necessary. Information on transfer options to the port of departure and from the port of arrival are available from us on request.
Category C: Relaxed sailing holiday with shorter day distances and plenty of time for sightseeing.
