Relaxed sailing on the Baltic Sea

The Baltic Sea is the perfect destination for a short, relaxing sailing holiday. Here you can enjoy calm waters, islands with rolling hills, beaches interspersed with dramatic cliffs, and charming little harbors.

Starting point: Laboe near Kiel

You board in the charming seaside town of Laboe, just a short distance from Kiel. Within walking distance of the ship, you’ll find the beach, cafés, and shops. After dinner, you can take a stroll along the waterfront, or relax on board and get to know your fellow sailors.

Departure and sailing to the Danish islands

The next morning, after the crew has shown you the ropes and explained the sails, we set off. Over the next three days, we’ll explore a scenic route visiting a few of Denmark’s charming islands.

Possible destinations along the way

Depending on the wind and weather, the route may vary each time. Possible stops include Bagenkop, Marstal, or Sønderborg. The old fishing village of Bagenkop on Langeland is a perfect spot for walks in nature. Marstal, the largest town on the island of Ærø, is home to a maritime museum that’s definitely worth a visit. Ærø also boasts the charming town of Ærøskøbing, with its colorful houses and cobblestone streets, reminiscent of a Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale. We also love to dock at the idyllic island of Lyø, which is only 6 km² and ideal for walking or cycling—bikes can be rented at the harbor. Sønderborg, on the island of Als, has plenty to offer: a beautiful castle to explore, numerous shops, and a beach close to the harbor.

A versatile sailing experience

Chances are, this sailing trip will leave you wanting more. The Baltic Sea is so diverse that even after years, we still never tire of it.

Enjoying on board

During our sailing trips, you’ll have plenty of time to relax, read, swim, and explore onshore in addition to the sailing activities. The fresh sea air will work up your appetite, and our chef knows just what to do: you’ll be treated daily to a hearty breakfast, a tasty lunch, and a delicious dinner.

The route is an example and depends on wind, weather, and tide.

Frequently asked questions

We still handle bookings personally and therefore do not have an automated booking system. This allows us to offer you the option to reserve individual spots without obligation for a few days. This way, for example, you can arrange your vacation without anyone snatching your spot right under your nose. For this reason, we are unable to keep track of the exact number of available spots on a daily basis. However, we regularly check the availability of our sailing holidays. Therefore, you can generally assume that there are still enough available spots on all trips that are not marked as “fully booked” or “Last Minute.” Call us or use our booking form if you want to know the exact number of available spots.

If you are travelling alone and have not booked a private cabin, you will be accommodated in a shared cabin. The shared cabins are usually assigned based on gender.

Exceptions:

  • On the Belle Amie and the Seatrips yachts, there are sometimes mixed-gender cabins as well.
  • On the Sir Robert, there are no shared cabins. Are you traveling alone? Then you must book a single cabin..

Yes, vegetarians and allergies/intolerances can be catered for on most ships. On some ships, the menu can also be adapted for vegans. However, there is only one menu per day on the programme. Therefore, please let us know during your booking if you have any special dietary requirements.

In principle, all our trips are suitable for both experienced and novice sailors. The professional crew on board will teach you everything you need to know. In some cases (e.g. on Atlantic crossings) initial sailing experience may be an advantage/requirement. In this case, this will be clearly indicated in the cruise description.
