  • 14 days
  • Across the Atlantic Ocean from Brazil via French Guiana to the Caribbean
  • You will be assigned to the Twister’s watch system. It is not compulsory but highly recommended to participate in all watches.
  • As we sail, the route depends on weather conditions.
  • We make this trip with a select party of 16 passengers.
  • Vegetarian food is served on board as standard. If you want to eat fish or meat, you can indicate this when booking.
  • All meals on board, port charges, etc. included

The trip starts in Belém, where you will be warmly welcomed by the crew of the Twister. You will get to know the ship and the other embarkees and settle into your cabin. During the first evening, you will receive safety instructions, get to know the crew, discuss the itinerary and toast to a great 14 days!

The captain knows the area well and knows where the best spots are to anchor and get to know the country better. After leaving Belém, the first thing we will encounter is Devil’s Island, or Île du Diable in French Guiana. These islands are known from the book and films based on it, Papillon. There used to be a penal colony here, the remains of which can now be found overgrown by jungle.

After that, we’ll set sail for the Caribbean. This is one of the best sailing areas in the world to explore, with a beautiful ship at our disposal and a crew that knows all the best spots. But during these trips, passengers are also welcome to share their ideas, so if there are places on this route that you definitely want to visit, let us know and we’ll try to stop by if we can!

Like Tobago, for example. This former pirate’s nest was also called the hidden island, because it remained hidden from the rest of the (western) world for so long. Even though people were already living on the island 7,000 years ago. The name means ‘tobacco’. Daniel Defoe situated the story of Robinson Crusoe on Tobago. Although this island is a paradise for nature lovers, tourism here is less developed than in other Caribbean islands. On the north side, you will find beautiful beaches with palm trees and bays where you can be the only boat to anchor. On the south side is one of the most beautiful diving and snorkelling areas in the whole Caribbean: Buccoo Reef. If there is still time, we could take a look at the uninhabited islands on the east side of Tobago.

After another wonderful final evening on board, we will drop you off at Tobago on 10 December 2025.

Frequently asked questions

We still handle your bookings personally and therefore do not have an automatic booking system. This way, we can enable you to reserve individual places for a few days without any obligation. This allows you, for example, to arrange your holiday without someone stealing your place from under your nose. For this reason, we cannot keep track of the exact number of free places on a daily basis. However, we regularly check the availability of our sailing holidays. Therefore, you can generally assume that plenty of free places are still available on all trips that are not marked as ‘fully booked’ or ‘Last Minute’. Call us or use our booking form if you want to know the exact number of places available.

If you are travelling alone and have not booked a private cabin, you will be accommodated in a shared cabin. The shared cabins are usually assigned based on gender.

Exceptions:

  • On the Belle Amie and the Seatrips yachts, there are sometimes mixed-gender cabins as well.
  • On the Sir Robert, there are no shared cabins. Are you traveling alone? Then you must book a single cabin..

Yes, vegetarians and allergies/intolerances can be catered for on most ships. On some ships, the menu can also be adapted for vegans. However, there is only one menu per day on the programme. Therefore, please let us know during your booking if you have any special dietary requirements.

In principle, all our trips are suitable for both experienced and novice sailors. The professional crew on board will teach you everything you need to know. In some cases (e.g. on Atlantic crossings) initial sailing experience may be an advantage/requirement. In this case, this will be clearly indicated in the cruise description.
