Discover the Magic of Classic Sailing Yachts

Step aboard during the Rendezvous of the Classics, an unforgettable weekend where sporting challenge, camaraderie, and maritime charm come together. Whether you’re an experienced sailor or simply love classic yachts, this event offers a unique experience both on the water and on land. From relaxed sailing trips on the Schlei to the prestigious regatta during Kiel Week, it’s the highlight of the sailing season for every nautical enthusiast.

Wednesday: Arrival and Embarkation

We welcome you on Wednesday evening in the harbor of Laboe, where you will board the beautiful Quadra. Enjoy a first introduction to the crew and feel the excitement of the water already approaching.

Thursday: First Sailing Experiences

The next morning we set course for Kappeln or Schleimünde, where you can practise the first sailing manoeuvres and get the rhythm of sailing into your hands. A perfect opportunity to get to know each other better and to explore the boat.

Friday: Regatta to Kiel

On Friday morning, the starting signal sounds at Schleimünde for the first regatta towards Kiel/Stickenhörn. In the evening, you’ll meet the crews of other classic yachts over a convivial meal at the Rathje shipyard – the perfect opportunity to share stories and make new sailing friends.

Saturday: The Highlight of the Weekend

After a hearty breakfast, the highlight of the weekend begins: the grand regatta of classic sailing yachts to the Kiellinie. As part of Kiel Week, in the afternoon we also sail across the Kieler Förde and Strander Bucht. The starting signal is traditionally given at the harbor master’s tower in the Düsternbrook marina, which also marks the finish line.

In the late afternoon, all yachts gather in Basin IV of the old Olympic Harbor, where visitors can enjoy a stunning display of maritime tradition. After a relaxed coffee break on board, the social highlight of the weekend follows in the evening: the festive awards ceremony on the sunny lawn at the Kiel Yacht Club Hotel, where the best sailors of the weekend are celebrated.

Sunday: Farewell and Departure

After a final breakfast together on board, we set sail back to Laboe. The weekend comes to an end here, but the memories of a spectacular sailing adventure will stay with you for a long time.

Culinary Indulgence

An active weekend on the water calls for great meals. Our chef ensures that you are treated each day to a hearty breakfast, a tasty lunch, and a delicious dinner. On Friday and Saturday evenings, you’ll leave the boat for a convivial meal on land, organized for all sailors – the perfect way to relax together and enjoy the maritime atmosphere.

Note: The program is subject to change due to organizational adjustments or weather conditions.

Frequently asked questions

We still handle your bookings personally and therefore do not have an automatic booking system. This way, we can enable you to reserve individual places for a few days without any obligation. This allows you, for example, to arrange your holiday without someone stealing your place from under your nose. For this reason, we cannot keep track of the exact number of free places on a daily basis. However, we regularly check the availability of our sailing holidays. Therefore, you can generally assume that plenty of free places are still available on all trips that are not marked as ‘fully booked’ or ‘Last Minute’. Call us or use our booking form if you want to know the exact number of places available.

If you are travelling alone and have not booked a private cabin, you will be accommodated in a shared cabin. The shared cabins are usually assigned based on gender.

Exceptions:

  • On the Belle Amie and the Seatrips yachts, there are sometimes mixed-gender cabins as well.
  • There are no shared cabins on the Sir Robert. Are you travelling alone? Then you should book a single cabin.

Yes, vegetarians and allergies/intolerances can be catered for on most ships. On some ships, the menu can also be adapted for vegans. However, there is only one menu per day on the programme. Therefore, please let us know during your booking if you have any special dietary requirements.

In principle, all our trips are suitable for both experienced and novice sailors. The professional crew on board will teach you everything you need to know. In some cases (e.g. on Atlantic crossings) initial sailing experience may be an advantage/requirement. In this case, this will be clearly indicated in the cruise description.
