This active sailing adventure in Italy is full of phenomenal experiences. From sailing on a historic tall ship to hiking on volcanoes, immersing yourself in 6,000-year-old culture and exploring the beautiful archipelago, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The volcanic islands in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the northern coast of Sicily are characterised by wild, unspoilt nature. They are known as the ‘Aeolian or Lipari Islands’ because, according to Greek legend, the god of wind, Aeolus, once lived here. This jewel in the Mediterranean consists of seven inhabited islands and each one is different. From beautiful green hills to bubbling craters, you will find a wide variety of unique natural landscapes in a very small area. In 2000, the Aeolian Islands archipelago was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Stromboli’s regular volcanic eruptions offer a unique natural spectacle, and its volcanic mountains and Mediterranean landscapes are a true paradise for hikers. Since ancient times, the Stromboli volcano has been a landmark for sailors at night. Stromboli erupts every 15-20 minutes. Depending on the magma level in the chimney, lava oysers are hurled up to several hundred metres above the rim of the crater.

An unforgettable and varied sailing holiday with daily shore excursions that provide a pleasant contrast to the cosy life on board. Take a Vespa tour on the island of Lipari or perhaps a shopping tour on the elegant and chic luxury island of Panarea. Or take a stroll on the island of Salina, famous for its capers and sweet wine.

Frequently asked questions

We still handle your bookings personally and therefore do not have an automatic booking system. This way, we can enable you to reserve individual places for a few days without any obligation. This allows you, for example, to arrange your holiday without someone stealing your place from under your nose. For this reason, we cannot keep track of the exact number of free places on a daily basis. However, we regularly check the availability of our sailing holidays. Therefore, you can generally assume that plenty of free places are still available on all trips that are not marked as ‘fully booked’ or ‘Last Minute’. Call us or use our booking form if you want to know the exact number of places available.

If you are travelling alone and have not booked a private cabin, you will be accommodated in a shared cabin. Shared cabins are normally divided by gender. Only on the Belle Amie and Seatrips Yachts do they sometimes have mixed cabins.

Yes, vegetarians and allergies/intolerances can be catered for on most ships. However, there is only one menu per day on the programme. Therefore, please let us know during your booking if you have any special dietary requirements.

In principle, all our trips are suitable for both experienced and novice sailors. The professional crew on board will teach you everything you need to know. In some cases (e.g. on Atlantic crossings) initial sailing experience may be an advantage/requirement. In this case, this will be clearly indicated in the cruise description.
