🌊 A week living on a sailboat & experiencing the island

The crew – Diana, Frank, and the little mini-captain Cedric (2½) – are looking forward to welcoming you on board!

The sailboat in the harbour of Tazacorte is their home – and for you, a floating holiday stay.
Children are of course very welcome – after all, they know themselves how special it is to experience the sea as a family.

Together they make your week completely personal – relaxed, authentic, and filled with sunshine at heart.

Een week leven op zee – vanaf Tazacorte, La Palma

How does this sound: waking up in the morning to the sound of the ocean, watching the sunset from the boat in the evening – and simply enjoying life in between?

That’s exactly what you’ll experience during this special week on La Palma, the “Isla Bonita” of the Canary Islands. Not a classic sailing trip, not a hotel holiday – but a relaxed blend of living on a boat, exploring the island, and a bit of sailing.

⚓️ Your home: The sailboat “Simply Fast” in the harbour of Tazacorte

For a full week, you’ll live on a sailboat in the harbour of Tazacorte, on the sunny west coast of La Palma. It’s peaceful, authentic, and wonderfully close to the sea.

You’ll have your own cosy spot on board, drink your coffee with a view of the water, and enjoy the relaxed boat-life feeling – right in the middle of the Canary Islands.

In the evenings, you can sit on deck with the starry sky above you and the gentle rocking of the boat beneath you.

☀️ Completely flexible – your exclusive trip

The special thing about this week: it’s just the two of you (or your group). Whether you come as a family, with friends, or as a couple – this trip is exclusively for your small crew. You set the pace, the days, and the rhythm. Want more beach time, more sailing, or prefer exploring the island by car? No problem. There’s no fixed programme – just plenty of room for spontaneity, sunshine, and your wishes.

🏖️ Beach, island, sea – exactly the way you want it

Wonderfully relaxed – a beach day in Tazacorte!
The black lava beach lies right at your doorstep. Swimming, sunbathing, reading, or simply watching the Atlantic Ocean – pure holiday feeling.

🚗 Two days of island adventure
After that, we head into the island by car. You’ll explore the impressive nature of La Palma – dense laurel forests, volcanoes, deep ravines, and small mountain villages.
Whether you choose a hike in Caldera de Taburiente National Park or a coffee with a view above the clouds – you decide what appeals to you.

⛵ Sailing trip to La Gomera
If wind and mood are in our favour, we’ll hoist the sails towards Valle Gran Rey on La Gomera.
A relaxing journey across the Atlantic Ocean – sun, waves, maybe dolphins.
In the evening we anchor in front of Valle Gran Rey, spend the night on board under the starry sky, and the next day we sail back to La Palma at a relaxed pace.

The Sailing yacht – “Simply Fast”

The Simply Fast is a Salona 45 sailing yacht.

The Salona 45 lives up to its name: she is fast, agile, and at the same time extremely comfortable.

Frequently asked questions

We still handle your bookings personally and therefore do not have an automatic booking system. This way, we can enable you to reserve individual places for a few days without any obligation. This allows you, for example, to arrange your holiday without someone stealing your place from under your nose. For this reason, we cannot keep track of the exact number of free places on a daily basis. However, we regularly check the availability of our sailing holidays. Therefore, you can generally assume that plenty of free places are still available on all trips that are not marked as ‘fully booked’ or ‘Last Minute’. Call us or use our booking form if you want to know the exact number of places available.

If you are travelling alone and have not booked a private cabin, you will be accommodated in a shared cabin. The shared cabins are usually assigned based on gender.

Exceptions:

  • On the Belle Amie and the Seatrips yachts, there are sometimes mixed-gender cabins as well.
  • There are no shared cabins on the Sir Robert. Are you travelling alone? Then you should book a single cabin.

Yes, vegetarians and allergies/intolerances can be catered for on most ships. On some ships, the menu can also be adapted for vegans. However, there is only one menu per day on the programme. Therefore, please let us know during your booking if you have any special dietary requirements.

In principle, all our trips are suitable for both experienced and novice sailors. The professional crew on board will teach you everything you need to know. In some cases (e.g. on Atlantic crossings) initial sailing experience may be an advantage/requirement. In this case, this will be clearly indicated in the cruise description.
