Cast off for a real Wadden Sea adventure! This extensive tour of the Wadden Sea takes you from Norddeich through the Wadden Sea and across the North Sea – with possible stops on the East and West Frisian islands, depending on wind and tides. No experience is required: perfect for nature lovers, adventurers and anyone who wants to completely escape the daily hustle and bustle!
The Pegasus is an authentic flat-bottomed ship specially built for this region. In suitable weather, the ship can go dry on the mud flats. It is stopped on a sandbank after high tide, after which the water flows away with the ebb and the ship comes dry on the seabed. Then you can step off board and take a short mudflat walk. Don’t miss this unique experience!
The first few days we sail through the Wadden Sea, past the East Frisian islands. Depending on wind and weather, we might dock at Borkum, Juist or Norderney. On each island you will find miles of beaches, pristine dunes and perhaps a delightful walk through the quiet, expansive landscape. For those who prefer to stay on board, this is the perfect time to feel the wind in your sails and clear your head completely.
Wind and weather permitting, we set sail west and visit the Dutch Wadden Islands – Schiermonnikoog, Ameland or Terschelling are on the schedule. Here you can learn about typical Dutch island culture, discover small villages or settle down at a cozy harbor cafe. The West Frisian islands also offer beautiful beaches and unspoiled nature. And who knows, you might even spot a few seals sunbathing on the sandbanks!
After a week full of sea air, sunshine (hopefully) and lots of adventure, we set sail back to Norddeich.
