Traditionele zeilwedstrijd op de Waddenzee
This race goes from Harlingen to Terschelling – where the oldest lighthouse in the Netherlands stands: the Brandaris. About 50 traditional sailing ships in a small sailing area make for a fascinating experience. There is plenty to see and plenty to do; people sail with ambition, but not to the extreme. Even without any experience, you are very welcome to join the voyage.
An impressive fleet of traditional sailing ships
About 50 traditional sailing ships set off. A distinction is made between 5 different classes: large and small clippers, large tjalks, aken/skûtsjes, and seagoing ships. The timed start of the ships is especially an impressive spectacle every year.
Experience Terschelling after a day on the water
Once on Terschelling, you have the opportunity to take a walk through the beautiful beach and dune landscape, or to visit the picturesque village of West-Terschelling.
Later in the evening, you can go out to the “notorious” Braskoer dance bar. This is where the award ceremony and the sailors’ party take place. On Sunday, after breakfast, we sail back to Harlingen and are expected to arrive in Harlingen before 4:00 PM on Sunday afternoon.
We would like to make it clear once again that sailing experience is absolutely not required! So just come along and don’t miss out on this adventure!
The trip is accompanied by an experienced and qualified crew, and there will be approximately 10–19 guests on board. Minimum age: 14 years.
