Experience an unforgettable sailing adventure on the Baltic Sea, which offers you two great sailing days, a hygge Danish harbour festival and the exciting “Haikutter” race 2024!

This 2-day trip starts on August 6th in Rostock city harbour. From there we will sail towards Nysted in Denmark, where a very cosy harbour festival is already waiting for you. In Nysted, at the southern tip of Lolland, we will be greeted with cannon shots in the harbour and have the opportunity to experience Danish culture and cuisine. We spend the night on board the historic herring lugger Belle Amie, where you can relax in cosy cabins.

The next morning, we will take part in the Haikutter Race 2024 as an escort ship, which will take us back to Rostock. Haikutter is the name given in Germany to a specific type of Danish fishing vessel, of which over 9,000 were built between around 1900 and 1940. On board the Belle Amie you have the best place to watch the spectacular race and cheer on the ‘sharks’ on their sea journey from Denmark to Rostock. The cruise ends in time for the start of the Hanse Sail on August 8th in Rostock. This maritime event is a highlight for sailing enthusiasts and offers the opportunity to marvel at impressive historic ships and enjoy the maritime flair of the city.

Accommodation is provided in cosy cabins on board the Belle Amie. Each sailor has their own bunk with a new mattress and a night light. All you need is a sheet, a pillowcase and a sleeping bag for a good night’s sleep.

Frequently asked questions

We still handle your bookings personally and therefore do not have an automatic booking system. This way, we can enable you to reserve individual places for a few days without any obligation. This allows you, for example, to arrange your holiday without someone stealing your place from under your nose. For this reason, we cannot keep track of the exact number of free places on a daily basis. However, we regularly check the availability of our sailing holidays. Therefore, you can generally assume that plenty of free places are still available on all trips that are not marked as ‘fully booked’ or ‘Last Minute’. Call us or use our booking form if you want to know the exact number of places available.

If you are travelling alone and have not booked a private cabin, you will be accommodated in a shared cabin. Shared cabins are normally divided by gender. Only on the Belle Amie and Seatrips Yachts do they sometimes have mixed cabins.

Yes, vegetarians and allergies/intolerances can be catered for on most ships. However, there is only one menu per day on the programme. Therefore, please let us know during your booking if you have any special dietary requirements.

In principle, all our trips are suitable for both experienced and novice sailors. The professional crew on board will teach you everything you need to know. In some cases (e.g. on Atlantic crossings) initial sailing experience may be an advantage/requirement. In this case, this will be clearly indicated in the cruise description.
