The Wadden Islands are a jewel of the Netherlands, each with its own unique charm. They offer beautiful beaches, a relaxed atmosphere and the World Heritage Site of the Wadden Sea. But what makes these islands really special is the experience of sailing. Imagine historic ships gliding stately through the Wadden Sea, from one island to the next, while breathing in the fresh sea air and experiencing the freedom of the water.

One such ship is the Bree Sant, an atmospheric clipper that welcomes up to 18 guests (normally 26) on this voyage for more comfort. Here, everything is about relaxed enjoyment: comfortable double cabins, excellent facilities, and of course a chef who will surprise you with delicious meals and snacks. Together with an experienced crew, you will discover not only the beauty of the islands, but also the pleasure of sailing on the Wadden Sea.

Comfortable and cosy on Board

There is no shortage of luxury: the cabins are equipped with good beds and hot and cold water, and there are three excellent showers and toilets on board. The cosy cabin is the heart of the ship, where you gather for meals or to catch up after a day on the water.

During the trip, everything is geared towards your comfort. Whether you want to actively help with the sailing, give the helm a try, or just sit back and enjoy the view – anything is possible. The programme is flexible and determined by mutual agreement, with room for surprises depending on wind and tide.

An Indicative Programme

  • Sunday evening: You will be expected in Harlingen harbour from 20:00. Here you will meet your fellow travellers and get acquainted with the ship.
  • Monday: We sail to Texel, a journey of approximately 5–6 hours. You’ll arrive at the bustling harbor of Oude Schild, alive with activity and charm.
  • Tuesday: The journey continues to Vlieland, a car-free island with stunning natural beauty. Explore the island by bike or enjoy a delightful walk along the beach.
  • Wednesday: Off to Terschelling, known for its cosy terraces and sights such as the Beachcomber’s Museum, but certainly also an excellent location for a walk or a bike ride.
  • Thursday: The morning starts early with a trip to Ameland. You might spot seals along the way!
  • Friday: Return to Harlingen, where you will say goodbye to an unforgettable week of sailing around 16:00.

A journey to remember

Every trip on the Bree Sant is unique. The destination and route are determined by the wind and tides, making for an adventurous and dynamic experience. For example, previous trips have even passed Schiermonnikoog, with special moments such as falling dry and spotting seals at sunrise.

Step aboard the Bree Sant and enjoy a week full of peace, adventure and the best that the Wadden Sea has to offer. Let the crew take you on a sailing trip you will remember for a long time!

Frequently asked questions

We still handle your bookings personally and therefore do not have an automatic booking system. This way, we can enable you to reserve individual places for a few days without any obligation. This allows you, for example, to arrange your holiday without someone stealing your place from under your nose. For this reason, we cannot keep track of the exact number of free places on a daily basis. However, we regularly check the availability of our sailing holidays. Therefore, you can generally assume that plenty of free places are still available on all trips that are not marked as ‘fully booked’ or ‘Last Minute’. Call us or use our booking form if you want to know the exact number of places available.

If you are travelling alone and have not booked a private cabin, you will be accommodated in a shared cabin. Shared cabins are normally divided by gender. Only on the Belle Amie and Seatrips Yachts do they sometimes have mixed cabins.

Yes, vegetarians and allergies/intolerances can be catered for on most ships. However, there is only one menu per day on the programme. Therefore, please let us know during your booking if you have any special dietary requirements.

In principle, all our trips are suitable for both experienced and novice sailors. The professional crew on board will teach you everything you need to know. In some cases (e.g. on Atlantic crossings) initial sailing experience may be an advantage/requirement. In this case, this will be clearly indicated in the cruise description.
