The title “Golden October” is not a promise, because we all know the moody side of October. That is also what makes this trip so attractive, because everything is possible, from balmy sunny evenings to the first autumn storms. But the onset of autumn also has its unique aspects, which are reflected in the light and colours of the ending summer and offer us the opportunity to mentally prepare for the colder months of the year.

There are likely to be several stopovers on the pearls of the Baltic Sea, the islands in the Danish South Sea, each of which has its own unique character. On the island of Aerø you will come across the small town of Marstal, which has an interesting maritime museum, and Aerøskøbing, where you can be enchanted by the fairytale world of Hans Christian Andersen. On Fyn, the second largest Danish island, we can dock in lively towns such as Fåborg which has a medieval town centre that is well worth seeing. Sønderborg on the island of Als is also one of the larger towns and even Queen Margrethe spends a few weeks here every year with the royal yacht Dannebrog. But it’s not just the big cities, it’s the smaller towns and islands that make this region so charming. South of Fyn, between the Little Belt and the Great Belt, lies a chain of islands that should not be missed. On Lyø, Avernakø and our personal favourite Strynø, you can wander a little longer between cornfields and fruit trees into the village. There you will find a small shopkeeper, maybe even a krø (Danish for pub) and a few flea market items and food are sold in front of every house. Money in a jam jar and that’s it – typical Denmark! These are the quiet islands for real nature lovers.

Again, good catering is a must and together we will make sure we are well taken care of to cope with the weather. Who knows, maybe we can have another barbecue.

10% discount for pupils and students on request.

Frequently asked questions

We still handle your bookings personally and therefore do not have an automatic booking system. This way, we can enable you to reserve individual places for a few days without any obligation. This allows you, for example, to arrange your holiday without someone stealing your place from under your nose. For this reason, we cannot keep track of the exact number of free places on a daily basis. However, we regularly check the availability of our sailing holidays. Therefore, you can generally assume that plenty of free places are still available on all trips that are not marked as ‘fully booked’ or ‘Last Minute’. Call us or use our booking form if you want to know the exact number of places available.

If you are travelling alone and have not booked a private cabin, you will be accommodated in a shared cabin. Shared cabins are normally divided by gender. Only on the Belle Amie and Seatrips Yachts do they sometimes have mixed cabins.

Yes, vegetarians and allergies/intolerances can be catered for on most ships. However, there is only one menu per day on the programme. Therefore, please let us know during your booking if you have any special dietary requirements.

In principle, all our trips are suitable for both experienced and novice sailors. The professional crew on board will teach you everything you need to know. In some cases (e.g. on Atlantic crossings) initial sailing experience may be an advantage/requirement. In this case, this will be clearly indicated in the cruise description.
