The windjammer parade is the maritime highlight of the Kieler Woche with around a hundred traditional sailing ships. Barges, brigs and schooners – usually led by the Gorch Fock – sail up the Kieler Fjord in parade formation.

During this trip, you will take part in the popular Tiessenrace. This is a regatta of traditional sailing ships on the Baltic Sea. The final destination of the regatta depends on the weather. Sometimes it is beautiful Kappeln on the Schlei, sometimes Marstal on the Danish island of Ærø, or Sønderborg…. Let yourself be surprised!
