A short spring sailing trip on the Baltic Sea. The discovery weekends are for “landlubbers” who really want to sail for the first time as much as for experienced sailors who want to discover new areas … and of course for ANYONE who just wants to have a good time sailing. The Iris offers a warm and cosy atmosphere. Share your enthusiasm for sailing with the crew and experience unforgettable moments together. Take the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of traditional sailing. Help set the sails and during sailing manoeuvres, stand at the helm yourself for once and learn a few sailor’s knots. Of course, there is also plenty of time to just relax and let the wind blow around your nose.

On Friday evening, you will come on board and get to know the ship and your fellow sailors. Depending on wind and weather conditions, we will set sail on Saturday morning for our first destination in the Baltic Sea. The crew is happy to take your wishes into account. For example, we can take a trip to the Danish South Sea, characterised by idyllic landscapes, historic towns and clear waters. In spring, you can enjoy excellent peace and quiet here, as there are few tourists and other ships on the way. But an overnight stay in a German port town such as Kappeln or Flensburg is also possible. No matter which port the wind takes us to, you will come home full of new impressions from your own ‘tall ship adventure’.

Together with your fellow sailors, you will prepare delicious meals, which you will enjoy in a cosy atmosphere. The sailing ship Iris offers its guests comfort and hospitality. Cosy cabins and lovingly designed common areas invite you to relax.

The exact itinerary may change depending on weather conditions and other factors, adding an exciting touch to the trip. The crew will strive to make the most of the conditions and provide the guests with an unforgettable experience. There will be plenty of time to explore the country, visit local sights and enjoy regional cuisine.

Yes, vegetarians and allergies/intolerances can be catered for on most ships. However, there is only one menu per day on the programme. Therefore, please let us know during your booking if you have any special dietary requirements.

In principle, all our trips are suitable for both experienced and novice sailors. The professional crew on board will teach you everything you need to know. In some cases (e.g. on Atlantic crossings) initial sailing experience may be an advantage/requirement. In this case, this will be clearly indicated in the cruise description.
