Do you want to experience an adventurous autumn? Then our sailing trip is just what you are looking for. Together, we will create a varied and exciting programme in which you can learn all about sailing. The highlight of our youth trip is sailing a more than 100-year-old traditional sailing ship, where teamwork is key. You not only learn how to sail the ship, but also how to tie knots, split and manoeuvre. You will also learn how to read sea charts and navigate using modern techniques. During small theory lessons, you get the chance to really understand sailing and ask all your questions.
Teamwork and togetherness
The youth trip is all about togetherness and team spirit. Only by working together, communicating, being reliable and showing respect can we sail together. It will be an unforgettable experience for every fellow sailor. We will quickly grow into a close-knit crew and together we will tackle every manoeuvre. Prior knowledge is not necessary, but a willingness to learn in a team is.
Activities besides sailing
We anchor off deserted islands, make a campfire on the beach and visit several Danish and German ports. If the weather plays along we stop for a swim in the open sea, you can have fun with the dinghy and SUPs or snorkel in the shallow waters of deserted islands. In the evening, we organise a fun ship’s disco on deck, where you can dance with your newly made friends. If you prefer things a little quieter, you can enjoy a movie and game night, or relax in a hammock and watch the sunrise or the starry sky. Fun and our team are at the heart of all activities.
Furthermore, you have the opportunity to attend several workshops. How much plastic is there actually in the sea and on the beach? What does it do to animals and plants? How can we behave sustainably? Our experts will lead you through different topics and guide you, giving you the chance to apply your knowledge directly on board.
Accommodation and food & drink on board
Meals on board will be prepared and cooked together. If you cannot yet cook, you will be able to prepare at least one meal after the trip. There are two toilets on board, a bathroom with shower and a washing machine. For life on board, the cosy saloon invites shared meals and cosy evenings. For educational activities, we can use a beamer, overhead projector and screen.
You stay overnight on the lugger Belle Amie in cosy cabins. There is a four-bed room, two six-bed rooms and a large eight-bed room in the prow. Each berth has its own night light and wardrobe. If you want, you can also sleep on deck in a hammock and admire the starry sky. Don’t forget to bring your own sleeping bag, pillowcase, sheet and towel.
