What is a day on board like?

A day during your group or co-sailing trip can be imagined as follows:

After arriving on board, you will be warmly welcomed by the captain and his crew. They will explain to you the most important ‘ship’s rules’. You will meet your fellow sailors and together you will discuss the voyage.

On the first day of sailing, after breakfast you will get a detailed explanation about the ship and sails. Then the sails are hoisted and we set sail for the first destination port. The adventure begins!

On average, we sail 5 to 8 hours a day. You are, of course, warmly invited to actively participate – whether it’s hoisting the sails, performing maneuvers, or helping out in the galley! You’re also welcome to take the helm yourself or climb into the bowsprit net. There is plenty to experience and a lot to learn about traditional sailing. In addition to active sailing, there’s also time along the way to relax, have pleasant conversations with your fellow travelers, or simply enjoy the surroundings.

At the end of the day, we dock in a cozy harbor or drop anchor in a beautiful bay. Of course, there is plenty of time besides sailing to explore the surroundings. The route is never completely fixed but is determined by the wind and weather. Relaxing days with sun and swimming alternate with days full of wind and challenging sailing – anything is possible!

If you have booked a trip with a special character, such as a mile maker, a regatta or a themed trip, the set-up may be slightly different. You can find more information in the corresponding trip description.
